Five Core Priorities
My top performance priorities as City Treasurer are:

Accuracy in processing transactions, reporting and all other tasks;

Efficiency in management and operations;

Transparency and accountability in all practices at all staff levels;

Compliance with all external and internal requirements.

My Initiatives and Accomplishments
Results are what really matters. I have worked diligently to enhance financial efficiency, improve taxpayer services, and uphold transparency. Staying focused on the right priorities, and with the dedicated work of excellent, highly proficient staff members, I have undertaken major initiatives as Treasurer with strong positive results over the past four years:
Strong Financial Stewardship and Investment Performance

Maintained a 98% tax collection rate, ensuring strong financial stability for the city;

Provided multiple convenient payment options, including online, phone, and e-check services for taxpayers; and
-
Maintained strong investment performance on the city’s financial investments, with annual returns ranging between 4.59% and 5.54%.
Innovations & Customer-Focused Initiatives

Implemented a Pre-Pay System for Personal Property Taxes, giving more financial flexibility to taxpayers by making payments in installments; and
-
Maintained a commitment to excellent customer service, accuracy, and transparency, seeking to ensure the highest level of support and efficiency for taxpayers.
Professional Certification and Leadership

Successfully recertified as Master Governmental Treasurer through the Treasurer's Association of Virginia program administered by the Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service at the University of Virginia;

Secured Treasurer’s Office Accreditation for 2023 and 2024, and recently applied for 2025;

Current member of the Board of Directors of the Treasurer’s Association of Virginia (TAV), serving as a member of the association since 2016;
-
Actively involved in key TAV committees, including as past Chair of the Auditor's Committee and member of the Legislative Committee. Currently serve on the TAV Education Committee;

Member of the National Association of County Collectors, Treasurers & Financial Officers (NACCTFO); and
-
Appointed as State Director for NACCTFO, representing Virginia.
